Pretty Colours

10 Nov 2012

Don't really know where this poem came from... I just felt like writing it one day. Barely took me 5 minutes. Hope you can decipher what it means because I have no idea and I wrote it!

***

Pretty colours
Hear the tear drop as it falls
Pretty colours
Hear the voices as they call
Pretty colours
See how they dance and twirl
Pretty colours
See them spin as she swirls
Pretty colours
Smudge away the tears
Pretty colours
Broken but no one cares
Pretty colours
No one hears the screams
Pretty colours
Dominate her dreams
Pretty colours
Always a companion
Pretty colours
They call it an addiction
Pretty colours
Locked away in white
Pretty colours
Return at night
Pretty colours
They say it’s pretend
Pretty colours
Are real; they’re her friend
Pretty colours
Don’t lie, don’t cheat
Pretty colours
Are her retreat
Pretty colours
Why don’t you see?
Pretty colours
This innocent beauty?
Pretty colours
They’re real, you’ll see
Pretty colours
They don’t haunt me
Pretty colours
Everyone must see them
Pretty colours
Why to me are they condemned?
Pretty colours
Tear me into fragments
Pretty colours
My mind... it’s stagnant
Pretty colours
Make me fall down
Pretty colours
Won’t let me turn around
Pretty colours
Hear me cry
Pretty colours
Won’t answer me... why?
